'Radicating em pesky vermins

Post by Sapphira on Mon Dec 30, 2013 3:54 pm

The sun shone immaculately as it was yet another beautiful day in Iwagakure. The birds were singing songs of love and happiness as the morning dew glistened on the grass. It was a perfect day to be outside, and it seemed as if everyone was outside to enjoy it. Everyone except Sapphira of course. It was noon and she was still in bed, a bottle of scotch in her right hand while an empty carton of cigarettes nestled between her breasts. She had another wild adventure last night, or was it the night before? She couldn’t remember how long she was in bed for, could’ve been hours, maybe days. All she remembered was beating someone with a bar stool and having Anbu members pulling her out of the bar, with little success. Well that was another restraining order filed against her, and another bar she was banned from. Bummer. She was running out of places to have fun. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she slowly rose out of bed, the room was spinning and it felt as if someone was using a jackhammer to pierce her skull. On top of that her body felt numb. She never did like the after effects of partying too hard, if you could call beating a man senseless partying. Slowly but surely she made her way to the bathroom, and after ten minutes of vomiting and struggling to get up from off the floor when she had slipped and fallen in her own spew. She took a nice long shower and headed out to the gates of Iwa as she had a mission to do today. Something about extermination some pests? She could hardly think at the moment so Izaya would fill her in, she could always count on him to fill her in.

It was a quick walk to the gate and it seemed she was actually early, it was a miracle. Leaning against the village gate she would await for her partner in crime to show up.

The sound of an alarm filled through Izaya's apartment. He slapped the top of his alarm clock and sighed as he closed his book. He had a tendency to wake up earlier than the alarm clock and had trouble falling asleep again. In his hands he had a copy of Ichi Paradise, which he received as a gift from a friend. Izaya sighed. Today he had a mission and it was with someone he rather not deal with so early in the morning. He pushed over the covers and made his way to the bathroom, and began to brush his teeth. Looking back he began to contemplate the events of the day before. It wasn't easy, for the most part it was just manual labor than actual pleasure. He had to escort upper class citizens around the village for money and while they were female, they liked to talk too much. Almost to the point of nagging, which caused Izaya to grimace. Once he was done in the bathroom he got dressed and made his way to the village gate. He kept the book on him if he ever got bored, he actually enjoyed the story. Even if his friend gave to him as a joke.

When he got there he found that for once he wasn't the first one there. Izaya raised an eyebrow at the fact that his fellow was here before him. How did she get herself up from her usual drunken stupor so early? Izaya was almost expecting he would have to bust down her door and pry her outta bed, like he usually did when they had a mission. Walking up to her, he crossing his arms he greeted his friend. "So I see you got here before I did." Izaya scanned her up and down. Was this really the same person he knew or had she been switched out. She was never one to be excited or even on time for a mission. She would usually do it as an after thought. Like remember the mission days after it was completed, using some kind of party excuse to justify it. Though Izaya was for the most part, impressed. Arriving before he did takes determination or a hell of a lot of luck. Both would be need on this mission. Especially considering who his partner was. The lazy fat cat of the rocks, Sapphira Uchiha.

Things were getting difficult for Sapphira. Not only was she unable to stand on her feet properly, she found the village gates uncomfortable to lean against rather uncomfortable. Today she was wearing a short black skirt and a black blouse with the Uchiha crest on the back, it was obvious she wasn’t dressed for a mission and if that jashin worshipping bastard ever saw her looking like this he would probably sacrifice her, after having his way with her of course. She needed something to take the pain away and she had just the thing to cure her hangover, more whiskey! Reaching into her back pack she would pull out a silver flask and began drinking down the contents in one go. Instantly she felt the liquor beginning to dull her senses and she would regain some control of her body, hopefully she wouldn’t start throwing up in the middle of the mission.

Hearing footsteps approaching she would quickly hide the flask and turned to greet the one who greeted her. “Good Morning to you too Izaya-chan! Why are you looking at me like that? It isn’t that big of a deal that I’m early; maybe you just had too much fun with your books last night. ” She would quickly turn on her heels and began walking through the village gates before he could make some witty remark. Even though she was walking she had no idea where they were walking to. Due to her excessive partying she had completely forgot the mission, maybe she could improvise? Deciding not to make a total ass of herself she would stop in her tracks and turned to Izaya. “Ummm where are we going again?

Izaya listened to his teammate's comment and remained silent. He actually did enjoy the book but not in the way she had expected. He found himself enjoying the narrative rather than the obscene and risque scenes and situations depicted by the novel. It was intriguing to read and actually something that Izaya found himself enjoying. If Sapphira was to take a look at his book, she would find it filled with sticky notes and highlighter marks everywhere. Though he doubt she would ever ask to see that book again, like he'd ever show her. So he followed behind his teammate as they began to walk toward the mission.

It took a moment to realize, but Izaya found that they were going in the opposite direction of the mission. Izaya wondered how exactly he was going to tell his teammate. How was he going to tell her? Should he just grab her and change directions or tap her on the shoulder and tell her that they were going the wrong way. It was then he noticed her turning around and asking him where were they going. Izaya sighed as his hand collided with his forehead. "What am I going to do with you... Come with me." Izaya said as he turned in the direction of the mission. He began to walk at a brisk pace to make up the time they loss fooling around. Every so often he would look back to make sure his teammate was keeping up. He had a feeling he would lose her half-way on the way there and he felt he would get a earful if he left her again. Last time he left her he got yelled at by her sister. The little bugger seemed to be attached to her sister at the hip and always got mad when Sapphira was paired up with Izaya rather than her. Izaya found her to be really annoying but she was Sapphira's sister and Sapphira was his.... friend, if one could call her that. So Izaya kept his mouth shut and made sure to keep an eye on Sapphira. He didn't want her to disappear half way.
